What’s all this fuss about BuilderRadio…?
“What’s a podcast?”
Those where the first words out of my mouth when Jerry Rouleau suggested we start recording interviews with successful salespeople and trainers and publishing them online. Sales I could handle. Teaching and training? Right up my ally. But, recording audio and video, editing them, putting in the title tags, and uploading them for the world to hear? Not in my skill set!
Well, in the past three years since we began publishing our program, a lot has changed, with BuilderRadio, with the housing industry… and with our audience, customers and consulting clients.
Today, the Selling More Homes Podcast is the #1 online Sales & Marketing resource for the housing community. We’ve extended our offerings to include the largest selection of sales and marketing books specific to the housing industry, webinars, recorded video home study courses, and the brand new Selling More Homes Academy – the first online learning center dedicated to new home sales training, marketing training, and skills development for builders, remodelers and Realtors.
We still also provide consulting and speaking services for clients throughout the U.S. and Canada, and we’re still following our own motto – Learn; Change; Grow. And through this website and set of services we’re able to share what we learn to help others to change and grow to meet the needs of an emerging market.
Selling More Homes Media was founded by Jerry Rouleau and Scott Stroud in 2007 and today features the support of a faculty that includes some of the most experienced and committed sales and marketing experts in the industry, many of whom we are proud to feature on our website.
Jerry Rouleau
BuilderRadio, now Selling More Homes Media, was the brainchild of Jerry Rouleau. Jerry was one of the most creative thought leaders in the new home sales arena for over 30 years, until his untimely death from cancer in March, 2011. Jerry was the founder of J. Rouleau & Associates LLC in Terryville, CT., and was active in the NAHB, the Builder Systems Councils, SIPA, TFBC, and other industry associations as a teacher, trainer and speaker. He’s written countless articles for industry publications and was the author of three books on new home marketing and sales.
Jerry’s cumulative knowledge and experience are evident on every page of Selling More Homes Media and in every issue of BuilderRadio’s Selling More Homes Podcast, which he co-hosted for over three years.
In January, 2011, Jerry was awarded the prestigious Friend of the Institute award by the Institute of Residential Marketing for his many years of support of that association and in elevating new home sales and marketing training throughout the industry.
Scott Stroud
Scott has been involved in the business of marketing, designing, selling and building homes for over 30 years. He began framing houses shortly after school and went on to become an award-winning builder/dealer outside his hometown of Louisville, KY. Scott has directed sales and marketing organizations within the housing industry, and has been active in the Building Systems Council. He is a member of the NAHB Sales & Marketing Council, and has been a regular speaker at the NAHB’s International Builder Show.
A proficient sales trainer and marketing consultant, Scott brings his previous experience as a new home dealer, sales manager, contractor and designer to J. Rouleau & Associates and to BuilderRadio.com. Many of the issues that will be addressed in our programs are ones that Scott has faced first hand, making him well-suited for his role as moderator and program director.
